Porsche Panamera Turbo Executive
One hundred thousand units in three model years. The Panamera is doing well despite many of the original complaints about its form. It may be due to Porsche’s refusal to allow the Panamera to sit back on its laurels. In such a short time, it’s doubled its model offerings, expanding the line to include the higher-performance Turbo S, the purer GTS and the efficient Hybrid. It hasn’t stopped for 2014, when the line expands in a literal sense with the Executive trim. It stretches the already 16.5-foot sedan by another 5.9 inches, all of which goes to the rear cabin. As a result, rear passengers will be coddled by chairs that lie back an additional six degrees. In addition to the new extended model, the entire Panamera lineup will undergo revisions. Slight modifications to the exterior give it sleeker looks, especially important with complaints of the rear’s visual weight. More power can be found all around, even though the base V-8 has been dropped for a twin-turbocharged V-6. The V-8 does return, however, with more horsepower in the GTS and Turbo models.
